Words, chronic illness, eco resources & eco news!

-- Quote of the Day --

"Words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling like dew upon a thought, produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions, think."
~ Lord George Gordon Byron

-- Conscious Discussions Radio --

With millions of individuals caring for an increasingly aging population, we have made an effort at Conscious Discussions talk radio to cover chronic illness and end of life issues in an effort to encourage our listeners at a time when they may be feeling vulnerable, overwhelmed and grief-ridden. Frances Shani Parker is our featured guest of the day - she is a writer, former school principal and a hospice volunteer for 10 years. She has written a captivating book titled – Becoming Dead Right: A Hospice Volunteer in Urban Nursing Homes. Today’s listeners will discover interesting and helpful information regarding nursing homes, care-giving and common aging issues from pain management to dementia. We will also learn how to handle death, rituals and bereavement in a healthy way.

According to the Gazette (Grand Forks - BC, Canada - Newspaper) “the city of Grand Forks along with the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary is a signatory to the province’s Climate Action Charter” – and this means that our city has committed to becoming carbon neutral. We are so proud and thrilled that this is happening in our little city!
