Originally created by youth leaders to allow youth to report from the International Climate Negotiations in Montreal in 2005, It’s Getting Hot in Here has since grown into a global online community with over 300 writers from countries around the world.
  

 -- Recycling Instrument Strings --


Did you know that acoustic guitar strings are made of bronze wire wound around steel wire, while electric guitar strings are made using nickel wire?

Apparently there is so much value in old instrument strings that a Japanese music chain has begun accepting them for recycling - Mie Musical Instrument Retailers Association   - including strings from guitars, base guitars, and Taisho harps.
