Recycle For Nature

-- Quote of the Day --

-- Positive News --

Have you heard of the Recycle For Nature program? - this new program was designed to create more awareness about recycling and conservation, to increase access to recycling and to help people understand and participate in water conservation and protection.

According to the article I read - http://tinyurl.com/l5sl2hc - nearly 35% of rivers and 50% of lakes within the USA are not safe for drinking, swimming or fishing.

Every time national (US) recycling rates jump .25% PepsiCo is going to donate additional funding designated solely for water protection. By making recycling easier, with accessible bins in more locations, and additional motivation and promotion the people involved (The Nature Conservancy and PepsiCo) aim to protect rivers and land that impact the health of important water resources and to save at least 1.2 billion gallons of water (the equivalent of 62.5 million showers).  * https://www.pepsicorecycling.com/Partnerships/RecycleForNature

PepsiCo is listening to concerned shareholders, stakeholders, employees and customers and have worked hard over the last 10 years to increase recycling systems, to improve the efficiency of the recycling of their bottles and packaging, to collaborate with suppliers and schools. Social responsibility is also on their list and they've donated more than a million dollars to help veterans get the entrepreneurship support they need to follow their dreams of running a business.

The Recycle for Nature program has already seen recycling rates increase from 34 to 42%, which shows that people in the US really do want to recycle and will recycle if there are accessible bins making it convenient to do so.
